N.S.S

The main aim of National Service Scheme is personality development through social service or community service. This programme is to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students, and to provide service to the society without any prejudice. NSS volunteers work hard day and night to ensure that every one in our society who is needy gets the every possible help from them so that they can also enhance their standards and lead a life of dignity in the society with all of us. In doing so the volunteers themselves learn a lot from the people in villages like how to struggle and how to lead a happy life in the extreme scarcity of resources and so on. Another aim is personality development through social service.

Broad Objectives

  • Understand the community need and educate them in that area.
    Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • educate the village people in the area of digital literacy, swatcha bharat, use of toilets, plantation, use of good quality drinking water etc.
  • create awareness on air born diseases, water born diseases, awaeeness on general health problem and conduct of medical camps.
  • Increase the social responsibility by encouraging the people for blood donation and body part donation and help the poor.
  • Implementation of new technology in agricultural fields and house hold applications
  • Create awareness on generation of extra income by value edition and by establishing small scale industries.
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process
  • Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems
  • Develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities
  • Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
  • Practice national integration and social harmony
  • Women empowerment and women's safety awareness

NSS Special Camp – conducted on 02.01.2019-09.01.2019 at Reganigudem(V) (Reganigudem is a small Village/hamlet in Anandapuram Mandal in Visakhapatanam District of Andhra Pradesh State, India. It comes under Kusulavada Panchayath) mainly to create awareness on education to illiterates, women empowerment programmes. The camp also provided awareness on healthy lifestyle and nutrition for school children, awareness campaign on anti- smoking and swatchatha of the village. A Medical camp is also organised by our 50 No's of volunteers in the village to the people of Reganigudem village.

On the event of NSS special camp Day 2 on 03.01.2019 , a rally on Swachh survekshan is conducted in the Reganigudem village by our 50 No's of NSS Volunteers to keep their village clean and to create awareness among public regarding the use of individual toilets in the village.
On the event of NSS special camp Day 2 on 03.01.2019 , Our 50 No's Volunteers raising slogans " Beti bachao Beto Padavo" & " Aada pilla chaduvu-Intiki velugu" during awareness Rally on girl child education which is conducted in the Reganigudem village to send their girl children to school every day and provide education.
On April 4th 2018 at 10 AM to 3PM nearly 180 members donated their blood in the blood donation camp in the college campus with the association of Lions club visakhapatnam with a quote of "Give a chance of life by donating blood"
Our NSS Volunteers Celebrated the International Literacy Day on 12th September 2018 at Zilla Parishad High School Gidijala. the main aim of this event is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.
On 29 June 2018 a YBI Trainer,Mrs P.Satya Vani gave physical training on women safety to our NSS women volunteers. Self defence techniques was also trained to our volunteers.
On 28-8-18 our NSS volunteers collected the necessary items from the college management, staff & students and sent to the people of Kerala who have affected greatly by floods.
Our NSS Volunteers Celebrated the International Day of YOGA on 21ST June 2019 at Zilla Parishad High School Gidijala. the main aim of this event is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.The theme of 2019 is "Yoga for Climate Action"

Sports

The physical fitness gives the mental health which helps students for overall development. TPIST provides and encourages sports and games. Students bag the awards in inter college university levels and state national level.

Anti ragging

Discipline & Anti ragging practices in the campus

Ragging is strictly prohibited in the Sia Ganapathi Engineering College. To prevent the ragging following measures are taken in the Prohibition of Ragging in Educational Institutions Act 26 of 1997 Salient Features Ragging within or outside any educational institution is prohibited. Ragging means doing an act which causes or is likely to cause Insult or Annoyance of Fear or Apprehension or Threat or Intimidation or outrage of modesty or Injury to a student.

  1. Ragging is prohibited as per Act 26 of A.P. Legislative Assembly, 1997.
  2. Ragging entails heavy fines and/or imprisonment.
  3. Ragging invokes suspension and dismissal from the College.
  4. Outsiders are prohibited from entering the College and Hostel without permission.
  5. Girl students must be in their hostel rooms by 7.00 p.m.
  6. All the students must carry their Identity Cards and show them when demanded
  • The Principal and the Wardens may visit the Hostels and inspect the rooms any time.
